I have already written a message about Bob's death,  but want to add a couple of comments about Bob's kindness and consideration for ALL people.  He and I dated as teenagers, though Bob went to ETHS and I to New Trier(we met at an interschool "mixer" as new Freshmen). Bob had some good friends at ETHS who were African American,  and so we double dated - almost unheard of at the time.  We were not allowed to sit together at the Evanston Movie Theatres -- the Black couple had to sit in the balcony with the other "Coloreds" - we went to the local eateries after the movies and often wouldn't get served for the longest time (once, not at all) but, thanks to Bob,  we waited it out. Bob was loyal and inclusive with his friends.   My parents were strict about dating rules and curfews. Bob was good about getting me home "on time" but there were a few exceptions -and those were because Bob couldn't help himself from helping others!  Once it was stopping on the way home from a basketball game in the winter to dig out a car stuck in the snow. Another time it was helping a man fix his flat tire - this was so typical - and hard for my parents to believe these were the REAL reasons -- but they were!! Bob was the epitome of a good Samaritan -truly one of the nicest, kindest people EVER! Again,  my love and sympathy to his children and grandchildren - he was a wonderful man.

I only learned today of Bob's death on Christmas,  and am very saddened.  Bob was a close friend of mine all during our high school years.  He was always full of fun and laughter,  and a real leader at ETHS.  He had to be tolerant of me since I went to New Trier!  But Bob was one of the most tolerant,  kind, helpful and compassionate people I've known - even as a teenager. Although talented, looked up to,  and very handsome,  Bob was always  modest and altruistic.  He was dedicated to his community all his life - and deeply loved his wife,  Susan,  and his daughters and grandchildren.  I,  and all of Evanston,  will miss Bob. As a young man moving to Evanston, I joined the Kiwanis Club. One of my first memories was being enthusiastically welcomed by Bob. His contagious smile and willingness to pitch in to help others were an inspiration to me. I have many fond memories of working on projects with Bob. He made a very real difference in many peoples lives and leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion.

Bob & Sue were our neighbors at the MNWC.  We grew to love & respect them and their family.  The last time Sandy saw Bob was at the Presby Church in Evanston the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  He was smiling, as usual, and gave her a big hug.  She will always remember him that morning.
This past summer Sandy & Gus spent many enjoyable hours with Bob on our Cabin deck.  We are thankful we took the time to be with him.  Sandy & Bob canoed together during the 4th of July Annual Boat/Swim around Lake Chabenau.  Sandy had to take the helm in order to avoid going around in circles.  We had so many laughs that day.
Bob will always hold a special place in our hearts and minds.  We will miss him.

not only at the University of Michigan and the fun at Delta Tau Delta. It was special having Bob and Sue at our home last year.  We will always remember his special smile and laugh, his caring nature and kindness.  RIP dear friend Bob

As an ETHS 1954 Graduate and a friend of Bob's while at ETHS I was very sorry about his passing. He was one of the leaders of our class and I am sure he maintained his leadership role. We will all miss him.

Over the years Bob has been a huge part of the North Shore - Barrington Association of REALTORS.  We treasure his valuable input.  He will be missed.

We met Bob through our membership in the Michigan North Woods Club. Bob was a highly valued lifelong member of the club, serving on various committees and as president. He will be missed. Our condolences to his daughters and their families.

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing.  He has been a very good friend since high school.  Sue was a classmate of my wife Lynn and I and Bob and I shared many years in the Evanston Kiwanis Club and playing squash and tennis together.  I will miss the phone calls that we had.  He was a wonderful friend and I know also father and grandfather.  He will be missed by many people that he touch through the years.
