Roberta Rootberg, (nee Fleischman), 80, of North Miami Beach, FL, passed away on April 15 after fighting Myelodysplastic Syndrome for almost two years. Roberta was born in Chicago, IL to the late Edgar and Dorothy (nee Feingold) Fleischman.
At age 18 she married the love of her life, the late Sherman Rootberg. They enjoyed traveling the world together and had many adventures. As the matriarch of the family, she was blessed with four children and was Bubbe to ten wonderful grandchildren. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Jenni (John) Bryan, Ilene Gilson, Adam (Debbie) Rootberg, Yael (Sallie) Rootberg. Her grandchildren, Jeremy, Teagan, Tyler, and Ian Bryan, Danielle and Jacob Gilson, and Ari, Joshua, Nate, and Hailey Rootberg. Her brother, Michael Fleischman, and many nieces and nephews.
