

Born April 6th, 1933 in River Forest, Illinois, Sallie was the daughter of John and Alice Heindel. She graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. She was a lifelong Jayhawk and a proud Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity member, serving as their Vice President.
In 1956, Sallie married her beloved husband, John “Jack” Rutherford Scott. Throughout their marriage, she and her family had the opportunity to live in several cities including Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Hillsborough, California, and Kenilworth, Illinois. While living in Kenilworth, Sallie was devoted to her church, serving on many committees. In their final years, Sallie and Jack lived in Northfield, Illinois during the summer months and in Naples, Florida during the winter months. Sallie loved being with her family and especially enjoyed being with her four great-grandchildren.
Sallie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and their son, John “Jay” Heindel Scott. She is survived by her sister Martha (Gene) Tardy of Oak Park, Illinois; two daughters Alice (Thomas) Uehling of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Priscilla Scott of Winnetka, Illinois; five grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew) Boerkircher, Ellen (Thomas) Pappas, Charles (Jessica Lakeman) Drake, George Uehling, and Henry (Shannon) Uehling; four great-grandchildren Annabel Boerkircher, Hank Boerkircher, Beau Boerkircher, and Thomas Pappas.
Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the University of Kansas.
