Ted Mann, 79, of Los Angeles and previously of Wilmette, IL, passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2025. Born in Chicago to Julia and Ira Mann, survived by beloved wife Paulette and son Ben. After graduating from Fenger HS, Ted attended SIU before returning to Chicago. Ted spent his career owning and managing clothing stores in the menswear industry. In 1984, months after Ben was born, Ted was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia – a rare blood cancer he fought and lived with for 40+ years. The resilience Ted maintained throughout the decades battling the illness was a testament to his strength and courage. The diagnosis didn’t hold him back from his passion for playing baseball – a sport he played on senior teams into his fifties.
