Hipolite Paul "Pablo" Reyes

Hipolite Paul “Pablo” Reyes was born in Texas on August 13, 1949 and passed away on June 17, 2024. Paul lived in Wilmington, CA for over 55 years. As a Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of ILWU local 13 in which he was devoted to and loved for 40 years. He coached baseball at Banning Park, Wil-Hall park and pop warner football.

Paul is survived by his wife Kathy Esquivel Reyes of 54 amazing years, and his son Efren Reyes; Mother Julia Perez, sisters Sylvia (Charles) Butler, Rosa Guerra, Adriana (Eugene) Garcia, Cristina (Eric) Gutierrez and his father-in-law Tony S. Esquivel; grandchildren (daughter) Brianna Reyes, Lynnette Escudero Reyes, Anthony Paul Reyes and Jacob Reyes; and one great grandson. Pre-deceased by his two sons Paul Anthony Reyes Jr and Mario Mundo Reyes; stepfather Jorge Perez; brother Jorge “Pato” Perez; brother-in-laws Salvador Guerra and Willie Guimary; and mother-in-law Esperanza “Hope” Esquivel.

Paul was a loving Father, Grandfather and a special Hunny to his Kathy.

A visitation for Pablo will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Wilmington, 1640 North Avalon Blvd, Wilmington, CA 90744. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 25511 Eshelman Ave, Lomita, CA 90717. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Wilmington Cemetery, 605 E O St, Wilmington, CA 90744.
