Alvin Odell Daly

He was born on June 26, 1941 in Wayne Co., NC, son of Teressa Marshburn and the late Bill Daly.

Odell was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. He was a machine operator at GE until his retirement in December 2005. He was a graduate of New Hanover High School and attended Cape Fear Community College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He loved his cats, L.K. and Samantha and his dog, Oscar. Odell loved being outdoors and when he wasn’t working outside on his house or his yard, you could find him fishing. He loved people and never met a stranger. He would gladly give his time or talent to anyone that needed help. Odell was a man in good standing with great boldness in the faith which is Christ Jesus. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Odell is survived by his wife, Donna Daly; mother, Teressa Marshburn; sister, Lynne and her Husband Wade; nieces: Terri, Karen, Kimberly, Cathy and Melinda; nephews, Hampton and Jeffery; sisters in law, Pamela Benton and Gayle Cartrette; brother in law, Billy Cartrette; and half- sisters, Lilly and Evelyn.

Visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Wrightsboro Baptist Church, 2736 Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Wrightsboro Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Harrison and Pastor Mike Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive Wilmington, NC 28409 with Military Honors by American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
