

Ann was born September 15, 1953 in Burlington, NC to late parents James Bradley and Helen Shatterly Bradley.
Ann is survived by her husband of 33 years, Douglas Greene, and her daughter, Robin Riddle. She was the Godmother to her nephew, James Greene. She was also close to nephew William Greene and her nieces Leslie Aldridge and Jamy Lillienfeld. Ann also had other nieces and was a stepmother to Shane and Michael Riddle. Ann was preceded by her parents, her infant sister, Lisa Jo, and her three brothers Donald, Steven, and Kevin. She also was preceded by her dear dogs, Rudy and Charlie.
Ann was a graduate of Western Alamance High School and attended NC Wesleyan University. Ann’s career in printing was at Wilmington Printing, Wilmington Star-News, and retired after 25 years of service at UNC-Wilmington. Ann was well known for her assistance to the UNC-W students on campus and away on service trips.
Ann loved traveling on short and very long road trips across the most of the USA and Canada. She was an avid fan of Caribbean and Alaskan ocean cruises. She loved being around woods and water, especially at her place on Holly Shelter Creek. Her hobbies were reading, cooking, photography, sewing, quilting and was well known for her beautiful, intricate, woven baskets. She loved to laugh playing games and pranks. Ann’s acquaintances described her as smart, kind, generous, compassionate and thoughtful.
Although she was beset by a growing number of health problems, limiting her abilities, she continued to have an optimistic outlook, planning for future trips and activities. She also managed to dependably support her husband, Doug, as he supported her in kind. Together they were a complementary pair made for each other. Ann was an especially devoted mother to her daughter, Robin, to her last day. She is very greatly missed by her family and many friends following her unexpected passing.
Gravesidel services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2020 at the family plot at Union Ridge Church, Burlington, NC.
