Annie Mildred Clark Burleson

“To live is Christ, to Die is Gain” (Philip. 1:21).

Annie Burleson, 92, of Leland went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2016.

She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 16, 1923 to the late Barto and Emma Sampson Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, 9 siblings (Arthur Clark, Wilton Clark, Jessie Clark, Tracy Clark, Wilma Sanderson, Raymond Clark, Juanita Revels, Barto Clark, Jr and Vernette Williams) and sons, Kenneth and Lloyd Oxendine.

Living to cherish her memories are her sons Eric Oxendine (Josephine) of New York, NY and Jerry Burleson (Cindy) of Hampstead, NC along with her grandchildren Shara Lynn Oxendine, Marc Oxendine, Sequoia Oxendine, Christie Cahoon, Jeremy Burleson, Matthew Burleson, Andrew Burleson and 4 great grandchildren.

Annie “Ann” loved and was loved by her family and friends. She also loved and served in her church for 40 years. The only thing she loved more than her family and church was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Today she is in her Heavenly Home.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at New Hope Baptist Church in Leland.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 2727 Mount Misery Road, Leland, NC or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
