Barbara Tate Brooks

She was born in Wilmington on April 1, 1940, to the late Robert J. Tate and Nancy Sanderlin Parry.

Mrs. Brooks attended Bridge of Life Community Church and worked for many years at Climate Control and retired from Fluor Daniel as a Mail Room Clerk.

She was a loving mother who adored all of her grandchildren and will be missed greatly.She was preceded in death by her husband David R. Brooks and a granddaughter, Christian Faith Batchelor.

She is survived by six daughters; Debbie Pearce, Kim Batchelor and husband Charlie, Sherri Clark and husband Robert, Dana Brooks and Mikki all of Wilmington, Tammy Walker and husband Billy of Leland, Nancy King and husband Randy of Louisiana; eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 2:00 pm at the Bridge of Life Community Church, 2220 Mercantile Dr., Leland N.C., with Pastor Jerome Bullard officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Casket bearers will be Chuck Batchelor, David Barron Jr., Shelton Pearce, Elijah Barron, Jason Batchelor, Aaron Clark, Randall Sessoms and Todd Melvin.

The family will receive friends at Bridge of Life Church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2014.
