She was born on March 11, 1956 in Fayetteville, NC. At the age of 17 she met the love of her life, Bertice Byrd and started a family in Pender County, NC. She was a devoted wife and mother to her children Sabrina and Ray. She was known for her dedication to her family and friends. She enjoyed life by inspiring young ladies as a youth softball coach, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren Hunter, Alex and Cheyenne.
With the support and love of her siblings; Tony, Henry, Glenn, Bruce and Connie, she developed a strong bond for family that led her to be a positive role model to so many. She was cherished by many and will be deeply missed.
A Graveside Service for Bertha will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.
