Betsy Stallard

She was born in Asheboro, NC the daughter of John Wilson Permenter, Sr. and Juanita Clark Permenter. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John Wilson Permenter, Jr., Donald Clarke Permenter and Sister in Law Marilyn Cooper Permenter.

Betsy is survived by her devoted family. She was the beloved Wife of James Wiley Stallard, to whom she was married 57 years; cherished Mother of Priscilla Stallard Martin, Melinda Stallard and Lorri Stallard Hauser; dear Mother In Law of David L. Martin and Wayne Hauser; adored Grandmother to Christine Martin Perge, Jennifer Martin, Alex Hauser, Timothy Perge and Aaron Fenninger; treasured Aunt to many Nieces and Nephews including, John Wilson Permenter III, Sandra Permenter and Debbie Permenter Bullard; and Sister in Law to Pauline V. Maultsby, Betty S. Stallard and Lois S. Danielson.

Betsy had many special friends including those from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she was employed for 30 years, members of the Winter Park Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member, and friends from the Woodman of the World Fraternal Organization.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday October 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington. A celebration of Betsy’s life will be held at Winter Park Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be a private family ceremony.
