

Carlos J. Bordo, aged 79, passed away at ECU Medical Center in Greenville NC on October 16, 2022, returning to the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born February 16, 1943 in Havana, Cuba to Riccardo and Antonia Bordo Merchan.
Carlos held both Italian and Cuban citizenship and immigrated to the United States to pursue his chemical engineering degree at Villanova University. Later in life he would become an American citizen.
He worked for many years for United Engineers in Philadelphia, PA before moving to Long Beach, NC to work for CP&L Nuclear Power Plant, and eventually making the move to the big city of Wilmington, NC.
Carlos' job saw him transfer to many more states before eventual retirement, but NC was always home, and where his children and grandchildren resided.
Carlos was a man who loved the sun, the beach, sports cars, spicy foods, Cuban coffee and food, dogs, and later in life he loved all kinds of sweets and croissants. Carlos resided in Greenville, NC where he was lucky enough to meet his 2nd wife and her family.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Consuelo Leon Acosta; her daughter, Keila J Estrada (Jesus Hernandez). His children, Miguel Bordo, Silvia Bordo-Rose, and Isabel Bordo. His grandchildren, Paul Rose, Owen Rose, and Felix Bordo. His fur grandchildren Archie, Noah, Allie, Lucy, and Nala. His nephews and niece, Alejandro Diaz (Jamie), Cristina Diaz-Achuff (Matt), and Stefan Diaz (Lindsey).
Carlos was preceded in death by his former wife and Mother of his children, Julie Suarez Bordo; his parents; his fur companion Roly; and his fur grandchildren Ava, Cassie, and Badger.
