In Loving Memory of Charlotte Anne Shrewsbury
Anne Shrewsbury, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on February 10, 1955, in Washington, DC, Anne was a woman of warmth, kindness, and resilient strength. She opened her heart and home to everyone that she knew, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, a comforting hug or a shared meal. She had a special way of making all who knew her feel loved and cherished. Family meant everything to her, and she showed this through her everyday acts of care and sacrifice.
Anne was a lifelong bingo fan, she was often seen with her lucky dauber in hand, sharing laughter with friends and enjoying the thrill of the game. She had a legendary sweet tooth and never met a dessert she didn’t like. She quietly battled a rare illness and never let it define her. Instead, it show-cased the depth of her spirit. She met each day with courage and found light even in dark times. Her strength was a gift to everyone who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Donald Shrewsbury; her children Kelly, John (Nikki), Kara; her beloved grandchildren Cheyenne, Colby, Chase, Weston, Skyelynn; great-grandson Jaxon; siblings Jerry (Kathy), Rose, Joe (Sandy), Kenny (Mary Jane), Janice (George), Anita, Phil (Kris); and a large, loving extended family. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eulitta Rhodes, and her daughter Kristie.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28412 from 12:00PM-1:00PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00PM, with interment immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association http://weblink.donorperfect.com/AnnesMemory, honoring Anne’s hope to advance research and help families affected by similar conditions.
Anne’s absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her spirit will continue to guide and comfort us. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
