Christine Ward Williams

Mrs. Williams was born on September 4, 1923 in Hallsboro, NC, daughter of the late Minnie Hickman Ward and Smith A. Ward.

Mrs. Williams was a secretary with Atlantic Coastline Railroad and Wilmington Shipping Company for 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed collecting antiques.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 68 years, Russell Charles Williams, Jr.; daughter, Cathy Zilke; son, Rory Williams and his wife Kayla all of Wilmington; Two grandsons, Scott Zilke and his wife Joany of Wilmington and Terry Zilke of Tuscaloosa, AL; Three great grandchildren, Jacob Zilke of Wilmington, Morgan Zilke and Madison Zilke of Tuscaloosa, AL and niece, Linda Millican Pitts of Richmond, VA.

Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to7:00p.m. on Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Coble Ward – Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00p.m.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday August 18, 2011 at 11:00a.m.in Green Lawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28412.
