
Dennis Charles Check, age 81, of Rose Hill, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Oliver Charles Check and Catherine Virginia Check.
Dennis grew up in Maryland and later moved to Carroll County upon his marriage. He was a dedicated student, graduating from the Polytechnic Institute and the University of Baltimore, and furthered his education with graduate studies at George Washington University.
He built a long and respected career in the trailer industry, beginning with Warner Freuhauf Trainer Camp and later working for Brody Trailer Company, where he served as a service manager and coordinator. Dennis retired after 48 years of committed service. Following his retirement, he and his family relocated to North Carolina, where they embraced a peaceful life on their homestead.
A man of faith, Dennis was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Church, where he served with the Knights of Columbus as a Third Degree member. The family is a member of Transfiguration in Wallace. Fr. Randy Gonzales will be presiding at the grave site
Dennis was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carolyn Check, who was also his cherished friend for 74 years; his daughter, Jacquelyn Poist; his son-in-law, Jason Poist; and his grandchildren, Trent and Kaitlyn Poist.
Dennis dedicated his life to his family. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his loving and caring spirit, and the deep devotion he showed to those he loved. He will be heartfeltly missed by all who knew him.
With enduring love, his wife shared that they are joined together “for eternity.”
