

Dominic "Nick" Mark DeSantis 93 of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Nick was born December 2, 1929 in Athol, MA to Vincent and Julia DeSantis. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. After moving to Wilmington, Nick opened one of the first concrete companies in the area and his footprints will forever be part of this town.
Nick was a very charismatic and respected man with many friends whom he loved. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed nothing more than fishing on his dock and cooking for his friends and family. Nick was a devoted son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children Bobbie DeSantis, his six sisters: Mary, Angie, Antoinette, Anna, Joanne and Carmella. He is survived by his daughters Pamela DeSantis of Wilmington, NC, Teresa DeSantis (Matt) of London, UK, Karla DeSantis (Dennis) of Wilmington, NC and Julie Leonard (John) of Watha, NC his grandchildren Amanda Benson, Marianne Moore (Peter), Jennifer Moore, Dominic DeSantis (Neena), Ryan Hamme (Amber), Jessica Leonard, Zac Leonard, Abby Leonard, Seth DeSantis and Bryson DeSantis great-grandchildren Addison, Jase, Paisley, Lilah Rae, Evie Mae and Jude. Nick is also survived by special friends Rick and Carol Martin and Carolyn Dunn.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to his devoted caregiver Brittany.
Nick was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family will host a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
