Eloise Rivenbark Wood

Eloise Rivenbark Wood, a devoted wife and loving mother, passed away on April 6, 2021 at the age of 89.  She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Alton E. Wood, 2 sons, Mark and Greg, their wives, Denise and Georgia, her sister Marshalean (James) Blanton, two brothers, Jack (Lois) Rivenbark and Mickey (Tama) Rivenbark, special nieces and nephews, her church family at United Advent Christian Church, and friends too many to count.  Eloise was the daughter of Eugene and Daisy B. Rivenbark of Pender County, both deceased.  Also deceased are her brothers Rev. Warren G. (Mildred), Gene (Elizabeth), Alfred Lee (Margaret) and Harrison Rivenbark.

She is truly the pride of her family's lives and was a very devoted Christian wife and mother.  She had inner and outer beauty and was a loving, selfless, giving, nurturing, generous, warm, and compassionate person who always chose to put her family and others first even to the end.  Eloise never sought the spotlight but was always ready and willing to do whatever she could to serve others.

A service to remember Eloise and honor her life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 11, at United Advent Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 2:45pm. In accordance with the family's wishes and for everyone's safety, COVID protocols are requested.  In lieu of flowers, Eloise's wish was to honor her memory with memorials to United Advent Christian Church, 4912 S. College Rd., Wilmington, NC  28412.
