

Ethel Butler Anderson, 67, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center. Ethel was born July 18, 1941 in Wilmington, NC, daughter of the late John Quincy Butler and Mabel Cutrell Butler. Ethel retired as a registered nurse after thirty years of dedicated service to her patients in the Birthing Center at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was an avid reader and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was known to her family as ""Mimi"". She is survived by her husband Bobby Anderson; three sons, Rev. Butler Anderson and wife, Carmel, Heath Anderson and wife, Denise, and Andy Anderson and wife, Lisa; eight grandchildren, Brett Anderson, Makenzie Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Ashley Sliva, Brandon Sliva, Jessica Sliva, Stephen DenBleyker, and Emily Den Bleyker; two sisters, Patsy Brock and husband, David, and Bonnie Bannerman and husband, Bill; and six nieces and nephews, Rhue, Patricia, John, Paul, Scott, and Tammy. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2pm Thursday at the funeral home. Special thanks to the staff of the 4th floor at New Hanover Regional Center and to the staff at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center for all their care and help. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
