Frances Flora Simmons Frances Flora Simmons, 88, of Wilmington, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Wilmington Health & Rehabilitation Center. Frances was born April 24, 1925 in Knoxville, TN, daughter of the late Charles Clay Flora and Elsie Berthina Davis Flora. Her husband, James H. Simmons, preceded her in death. Mrs. Simmons was a member of St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Episcopal Church. She is survived by her three children, Jean Ikonomou, Michael Simmons, and Margie Thornton; and five grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 1pm Saturday, April 12, 2014, at St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Episcopal Church with The Rev. Christopher Adams officiating.
