In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sisters: Patricia W. Shoaf and Judith W. Dilzer.
Ms. Leonard was an avid animal lover who rescued hundreds of animals.
She is survived by her son, Luther “Chip” Leonard, Jr. of Wilmington and her daughter, Babs Murrell of Castle Hayne; grandchildren: Nicki, Brandon and Missi; nephews: Miki, Brad and Mike and niece, Tara.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Billy Batten officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hanover Humane Society.
