Joanna Lynn Rudkin

Joanna Lynn James Rudkin, 54, passed peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2014. Joanna was the daughter of the late Bobby and Esther James. She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Rudkin of the home, son; Randall Keith Rudkin of Wilmington, daughter; Kaylee Joy Rudkin of Raliegh, brothers; Ray (Helen) James of Wilmington and Greg James of Durham, sister; Kim Gipson of Tonopah, NV, and grandchild Brayden Thomas Rudkin of Wilmington.

Joanna was in born in Wilmington, NC on September 17, 1959, and grew up in the Sunset Park area. She attended local schools and was a graduate of John T. Hoggard High School class of 1977. She was employed by several textile mills prior to working for Belk Berry in Clinque Cosmetics. She was a wonderful wife and mother and participated in many of her children’s school activities. Her hobbies included salt water fishing, interior decorating and gardening. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Pine Valley Church of Christ.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Pine Valley Church of Christ, 3601 S. College Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in Joanna’s memory may be made to Pine Valley Church of Christ or The Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, 28401
