Linda Carol Brown Franklin Linda Carol Brown Franklin, 59, of Rocky Point, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Linda was born June 29, 1950 in Elizabeth City, NC, daughter of June Brown Taylor and the late William F. Brown. Her husband, Jim Franklin, and daughter, Belinda Owens, preceded her in death. Mrs. Franklin loved her grandbabies, traveling, baking cakes, and making crochet dolls. She was a hard worker who always helped others and was loved by all. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her mother, June Brown Taylor John of Wilmington; two daughters, Dawn Landrum Lee of Spartanburg, SC, and Libby Landers James of Clayton, NC; two sons, James Franklin and Robin Franklin, both of Rocky Point, NC; ten grandchildren, Justin Woods Jessica, Jon Woods Cassie, Krista Woods, Spencer Landrum, Mackenzie Landers, Abigail Landers, Ashlea Franklin, Adriann Franklin, Vanessa Franklin, and Zoey Franklin; one great-granddaughter, Kynnedi Woods; sister, Norma Hinnant Donald of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, from 1pm to 2pm Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Gibson Avenue Baptist Church with the funeral service starting at 2pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in Linda's name may be made to American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Avenue, Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403.
