Margaret Lucas Streb

Margaret Lucas Streb, 86 of Wilmington, North Carolina passed to eternal glory on December 17, 2023 after a long and full life. Margaret was born on June 22, 1937 in Greensboro, NC to Robert Cox Lucas and Margaret Dill Lucas. She attended high school, graduating with the class of 1955 before earning a degree from Peace College. She met and married Bart Streb III on April 26th, 1958 and settled in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Margaret and and Bart started a family and as the banking industry moved them, set up housekeeping in Greensboro, Durham, Raleigh eventually Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Along the way they raised three children, Libby, Hilary and Bart IV.

Margaret was a great friend to many along her life and a caring mother of three and grandmother of three also. In her final years she became a great grandmother to two lovely children.

Those remaining to cherish her long life are her children Hilary Bouknight of Wilmington, NC and Bart Streb IV with his wife Janet of Oxford, NC; her grandchildren Andrea Padgett with her husband Matthew of Fuquay Varina, Alex Baumann and her husband Eric of Fuquay Varina; Lucas Bouknight of Atlanta, Georgia; her great grandchildren of Matt and Andrea, Luke and Drew.  Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband, Bart Streb III and her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Steadham. 

She lived a simple faith in her Lord and Savior, a faith available to everyone. In her own words, "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so...and that is all I need to know."
