

“Aunt Jean”
Mary Jean Wall Turner, 90, of Wilmington, died January 12, 2021, at Davis Health Care.
She was born March 12, 1930, in Johnston County, NC, to the late Geter Wall and Mary Murphy Wall.
Jean was an active member of Pine Valley Baptist Church where she was a member of the Esther Sunday School Class. She had a special group of friends she played cards with and a breakfast group. She will be remembered as Aunt Jean for the childcare she provided to many throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leon E. “Buzz” Turner, Jr. and three brothers, James, Bill and Ray Wall.
Survivors include her four children, Cathy T. Wilson and husband Jim of Wilmington, Teresa T. Wilkins and husband John of Watha, Leon E. Turner III and wife Kathy of Raleigh and Wendy T. Porter and husband Todd of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, Rob Blair, Matt Blair and wife Erin, Jessica Wilkins Milam and husband Zachary, Rebecca Wilkins, Kristen Blythe and husband Joshua, Rachel Turner, Taylor Porter and Lauren Porter; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Blair, Elliana Blair, Abi Blair, Zoe Blair, Judah Blair, Riley Milam, Emma Blythe, Enoch Blythe and Hope Blythe.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Monday, January 18, 2021, at Oleander Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face masks will be required.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Timberline House at the Davis Community and The Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for the wonderful, loving care they provided to our mother for past three years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare or the charity of one’s choice.
