Mary Jacobs Taylor

Mrs. Mary E. Jacobs Taylor left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 18th 2026. She was born on July 6, 1934 to the late Henry Lonnie and Josephine Jacobs of the Buckhead Community.

She is loved and cherished by her husband, Francis Barton “Bart” Taylor, for 48 years. In their marriage they raised seven children, Dewitt Jacobs, Sherrie Clewis, Julie Bartrop, Lillie Arms, Frank Taylor, Melissa Carter and Michael Taylor. She had 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Cathy Daniels (Jackie) of Atkinson, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two of her sons, Henry Dewitt Jacobs and Frank Taylor; three of her daughters, Sherrie Clewis, Josie Jacobs and Lillie Arms.

Mary enjoyed the arts of crafting, sewing, woodworking, and gardening. She also loved traveling with her family to the beach, the mountains, and especially, her favorite, “The Grand Ole Opry”. She retired from Climate Control where she soldered coils for air conditioning units.

A visitation in Wilmington will be held from 5:00pm to 6:00pm Monday, February 23, 2026, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28412.

A funeral service will be held the next day, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:00pm, with a visitation starting the hour prior, at 1:00pm, both at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, 6690 Old Lake Road, Bolton, NC 28423.

Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery on Old Lake Road in Bolton.
