Michael William Welch, 62, was born to William and Clara Welch in Mount Airy, NC. On October 15, 2020, he suffered multiple severe injuries during a motorcycle accident and later died on October 23, 2020. He was greeted in heaven by his dad, grandparents, a great friend and many other relatives. Mike was survived by his fiancé, Vickie Chilton and their two constant companions Sadie and Cooper, his two children Travis Welch and Mandy Welch, his mother, Clara Welch as well as his brothers Christopher and Stephen Welch and his sister Jeanna Welch. Mike was proud to be the grandpa of Travis’ children, Brayton, Kenleigh and Zaiden. Mike would want his great group of friends that he loved very much mentioned. Mike died doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. He was an organ donor and even in his death, he gave many others what they needed to live, even the gift of sight. Please watch out for riders – they have families that love them too!
The family will be having a celebration of Mike’s life on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Lifepoint Church at 3534 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC starting at 11am.
