She was born on September 6, 1936, the daughter of the late John and Kassie Ferguson. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mabel and Libby.
Ms. Ferguson was an avid Bridge and Scrabble player, and devoted many years of her life to the sport of tennis – serving as the President of the Raleigh Racquet Club for several years in the 1970s. Her passion for books and reading was unmatched as she averaged 2-3 books per week for most of her adult life. She loved to travel making numerous trips abroad and spending nearly 2 years living on a sailboat.
Ms. Ferguson is survived by her daughter, Teresa Jean Cirvello, and son, Joseph Robert Cirvello, her two sisters Kitty and Mary Lee, 5 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
In accordance with her final wishes, a funeral service is not planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Reading is Fundamental foundation at rif.org/donate
