Patricia J. Renegar

Patricia “ Jeanie” Jean Joines Renegar, 85, of Wilmington, NC entered eternal glory on September 16, 2025, and is now in the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on July 9th, 1940, in Wilkesboro, NC, and was one of five children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” F. Renegar, Sr. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her mother Garnett Wadkins, and her sister Betty Weaver.

Survivors include sons, Robert F. Renegar, Jr. and Patrick A. Renegar and wife Jennifer; grandchildren John, Allison, Jackson, and Nathan Renegar; sisters Linda Johnson of Wilkesboro, NC, Gail Musgrave of Goldsboro, NC, brother Bill Wadkins of Winston-Salem, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanie worked for Burlington Industries in Greensboro, NC, and eventually met and married the love of her life, Bob. In 1966 the couple moved to Wilmington and settled into the community which included joining Pine Valley Baptist Church. Jeanie served on many boards and commissions and some of these included Ronald Reagan’s Drug Free America, the Cardinal Health agency, the Jaycee's, and many other commissions to which she was appointed to by multiple Governors of North Carolina. She was also actively involved in many campaigns at the state level including campaigns for Jimmy Green, who successfully ran for Lieutenant Governor, James Martin, who successively ran for Governor twice, and for other candidates regionally in southeast North Carolina.

As a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church, Jeanie was involved in the creation of the memorial garden, served on many committees/programs and was a former Trustee. When Bob retired, they also volunteered to work with the youth group and joined them on many mission trips.

Jeanie also served as Chapter Regent of The Stamp Defiance Chapter of the NSDAR.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 27th, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Pine Valley Baptist Church, 3940 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28403. In honor of Jeanie and her favorite color please feel free to wear something pink to the Celebration of Life.
