

Patrina Sara Goldstein, 74, resident of Compass Pointe in Leland, North Carolina, passed away at New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Thursday December 16, 2021 as a result of a progressive lung disease. Patrina and her husband Seymour Goldstein have resided in Leland since 2014. Prior to moving to Leland, they lived in Brookeville, Maryland for over 40 years.
Patrina worked for the Federal Government from 1966 to 1974 where her favorite position was working as a Congressional secretary on Capitol Hill. She worked many years as a paraeducator for Montgomery County Public Schools as well as did extensive volunteer work in Maryland. Patrina highly valued helping others. In March 2021, Patrina said, “Nobody should ever be cold or hungry. Always help those in need. Be thankful for what we have and that we can help others.”
Patrina and her husband Seymour started the Compass Pointe Pickleball Club shortly after moving to North Carolina. Patrina had fond memories of playing cards, Mahjong, and attending gatherings at the Grand Lanai in Compass Pointe.
Patrina enjoyed art classes at Compass Pointe and continued painting as a hobby at home, completing a wall with many beautiful paintings.
Patrina loved working with children and volunteered at the Children’s Museum in Wilmington.
Patrina is survived by husband of 50 years Seymour Goldstein, her sister Bessie Mariner of Stuart, Florida, her son Steven Goldstein of Sterling, Virginia, her daughter Sandra Robins of Olney, Maryland, and grandchildren Julia Robins, Everett Goldstein, and Cameron Goldstein. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Federico of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will immediately follow with a time of fellowship.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers or cards, a donation be made in Patrina’s name to the American Lung Association.
