Peggy Anne Coley

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Coley; her parents, Willis and Adelle Futrell Carter and her brother, Tom Carter.

She is survived by three sons, Tim Gurganus, Stewart Mills and wife Cressie and Greg Mills and wife Michelle; her brother, Randy Carter and wife Denise; one sister, Sue Hice; sister in law, Rita Jones; and five grandchildren, Dalton Gurganus, Joshua Mills, Whitney Batten, Kieli Mills and Taiya Mills.

Peggy was always active and enjoyed spending most of her time gardening. She was known to participate in flower swaps with her family, friends and neighbors. She could always remember who had given her what flower and the story behind each plant. She was a very compassionate and caring person that gave of herself freely and unselfishly to others, earning her the title of “Mother to us all.” She will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 13 at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive, NC.
