Peter James Parsons

Peter James (Pete) Parsons, 64, of Wilmington NC left this earth August 15, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1961 in Syracuse NY to John and Patricia (Lawson) Parsons who preceded him in death. He and his brother Paul (Kathy) Parsons grew up primarily in Pittsburgh PA.

Pete married the great love of his life, Darla, 35 years ago. They shared deep, pure love and affection filled with fun and laughter since the day they met. For their first date they flew a kite and gently flew together ever since. He absolutely adored, fiercely loved and was incredibly proud of his girls, Sarah Parsons and Laura (Kody) Boggs. Pete delighted in his grandchildren, Jacki and Avery Boggs. He loved reading to, talking with and playing silly games with Jacki.

Pete was a talented woodworker who could fix or make anything, often using wood to fix things regardless of the circumstances. Pete enjoyed precious time simply hanging out with his family and friends, although he notoriously cheated at board games and sheepishly waited to see if anyone would notice.

Most importantly he gently loved his family (including his “bonus” wife, his sister-in-law Deborah Jones), his dogs and floating, whether it was on his boat fishing (not catching), the ocean or in the pool.

Our lives will never be the same. We just feel fortunate that we have been able to call him the greatest husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
