Richard James Sullivan Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Richard James Sullivan II, of Wilmington, NC, and a brother Ronnie Sullivan, of Leland NC.

Ricky had a passion for racing and restoring old cars. He was a hard worker, a leader, and did things his way. He could fix anything and was tough as nails. You always knew what Ricky was thinking because he would tell you. He was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed taking his boat out on the water but most of all he loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Sullivan; children Bryan Sullivan of Wilmington, Morgan Sullivan Creech, and husband Matthew of Rocky Point, and Madison Sullivan of the home; grandchildren Parker and Paige Sullivan; sister Patricia Smith and husband Rudy of Burgaw, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Coble Funeral Service Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Coble Funeral Service, 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington with Pastor Kyle Sullivan officiating. Burial to follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
