Robert J McCann

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Joseph McCann announces his passing on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the age of 90. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Agnes, and his children Robert (Lynn), Jane, Kathy (Drew), and Jude (Charles). Robert will also be remembered by his six grandchildren, Brendan, Erin, Matthew, Katherine, Bridget, and Sarah. His five great grandchildren were fortunate to spend time with; Connor, Rowan, Aine, Seamus, and Teagan will remember him fondly. Robert is also survived by his twin sister, Mary Lou McCann. Robert was predeceased by his brother, John.

Robert was a proud graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps form 1945-1951. Robert held several executive positions before he retired as General Manager of the Midwest Electric Company in Chicago, Illinois. In retirement, Bob was an avid woodworker, decoy carver, stained glass craftsman, and master gardener.

Robert had a wonderful sense of humor, walked faithfully every day, even when walking required a rollator. He was one tough Marine who never gave up.
