He was born in the Bronx, NY, on July 8, 1934.
Survived by his loving wife, Alane Savod; a daughter, Suzy Savod (Allen Sherman, son-in-law), and their children, Abby Sherman and Eli Sherman; a son, Jason Savod (Cheryl Savod, daughter-in-law), and their children Jacob Savod and Logan Savod; and a sister, Malki Schulweis.
Mr. Savod was the Associate Director for Sports & Marketing at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill for almost 30 years. He spearheaded a professional marketing program for the college that elevated the university to national prominence. He was the creator of “Carolina Fever…there’s no cure until the last seat is sold”.
A Celebration of Life in Wilmington will be held at a time to be determined.
