

Ronnie was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late William Lee and Alice Jones Ross. Ronnie was a 1976 graduate of Bethany High School in Bethany, NC and a 1980 graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA). Ronnie began his career teaching computer classes at Campbell University where he met his wife, Elizabeth. In 1982 he accepted a position as a Computer Software Engineer at Burlington Industries/Swift Textiles in Erwin, NC where he worked for ten years. After leaving that position he worked for Munck SoftTech in Angier, NC and in 1996 he took a Software Engineer position with General Electric’s Nuclear Division in Wilmington, NC, until his retirement.
Ronnie worked on the family farm raising tobacco until his graduation from college. He loved to play golf and played in the GE Golf League during his employment and he also loved to watch professional golf, as well as other sports. Ronnie was a die hard Campbell fan and attended football, basketball and baseball games when he could and he especially loved attending games with his father. Ronnie loved to laugh and have a good time and was a great friend to anyone fortunate enough to know him. He enjoyed spending time with his cats, especially Indy.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Bostic Ross. His brother, Travis Ross (Norma) of Julian, NC, and his sister, Jama Ross Jones (Todd) of Reidsville, NC, mother-in-law Vera Bostic, of the home, brother-in-law, Alan Bostic (Candice) of New Bern, NC, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Stewart (Kenny) of Buies Creek, NC. Ronnie adored his nieces and nephews, Courtney Ross, Kasie Jones Hill (Andrew), Ross Jones, AJ Bostic, Trent Bostic (Morgan), Logan Stewart (fiancé Lanie) and Addison Stewart. Great nieces and nephew, Kayleigh, Eliza Jo and Reid Bostic.
The family will receive guests, 5-7 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 1909 Richardson Drive, Reidsville, NC. Funeral services will at 11 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2026 at New Lebanon Church, 521 Huffines Mill Rd., Reidsville, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Rev.Dr. Mark Harris and Rev. Jaret McBryde will co-officiate.
