Russell Charles Williams Jr.

He was born on August 9, 1922 in Fort Worth, TX, son of the late Russell Charles Williams, Sr. and Mary Arabia Lewis.

Mr. Williams served in the United States Army during WWII and in the National Guard. He was employed at the Atlantic Coastline Railroad for 44 years as an engineer until his retirement. He also served as a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Shriner’s.

ncluding his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Christine Ward Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter, Cathy Zilke; son, Rory Williams and his wife Kayla all of Wilmington; Two grandsons, Scott Zilke and his wife Joany of Wilmington and Terry Zilke of Tuscaloosa, AL; Three great grandchildren, Jacob Zilke of Wilmington, Morgan Zilke and Madison Zilke of Tuscaloosa, AL and niece, Linda Millican Pitts of Richmond, VA.; brother, Harry Williams of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Mary Ann Williams of Fountain Inn, SC.

Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to7:00p.m. on Sunday August 21, 2011 at Coble Ward – Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday August 22, 2011 at the Coble Ward- Smith Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28412.
