Sadie Juanita Hill Brawley

SADIE JUANITA HILL BRAWLEY, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the age of 87. Juanita was born in Hickory, NC and married the late William Sidney Brawley. They were members of Broad Street United Methodist Church and residents of Statesville from 1950 until Mr. Brawley's death in 1987. At that time she moved to Wilmington to be near her family and had recently been a resident of the Brightmore. Juanita is survived by her brother, Alfred Hill of Hickory, NC and three children, Elyse B. Rowley of Sanford, NC, Kimberly B. Thompson and husband Fred of Wilmington, and W. Bruce Brawley and wife LeeAnn of Wrightsville Beach; 4 grandchildren, Jacquelyn P. Keeper of Columbus, OH, Daniel E. Pando of Albuquerque, NM, Alexandra B. Blonkvist of New York, NY, and Westin H. Brawley of Nashville, TN; and 2 great grandchildren, Isabel and Zak Keeper of Columbus, OH. Juanita will always be remembered for her selfless love of family, love of sports - particularly golf, and love of socializing with friends.
