She was a sales associate for Avon for 21 years where she was recognized as being in the top 5% of the country. After retirement she became a member of the Lower Cape Fear Coin Club and served on several Azalea Festival Committees over a period of 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild Mick Carney.
She is survived by her husband Paul; five children, Kathryn Martinez Carney, Steven W. Martinez and wife Judy and Laureen Meyer all of Wilmington, Paul E. Martinez and wife Connie of Kure Beach, Linda Zornes and husband Hugh of Richmond Hill, GA; along with five grandchildren Summer, Christopher, Michelle, Jake and Morgan and three great grandchildren Gabe, Landon and August.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd., officiated by Dr. Steve Spangler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
