Theresa Joan Allen, 83, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Morristown, NJ, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, while in hospice care.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Allen.
She is survived by her children; Joseph Allen, Lorraine Allen-Robinson and her husband Anthony and Thomas Allen and his wife Dawn Gual; Three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Joan, or Joanie as she was known to friends and family, was born and raised on Harrison Street in Morristown, NJ. She attended Morristown High School where she was a majorette. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Joseph Allen. Together they raised their family in Morristown and retired to Wilmington, NC in 1985. She loved going to the beach and entertaining neighbors, friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Wilmington, NC.
