Truman Porter Swain Jr

Truman Porter Swain, Jr., age 79, of New Bern, NC passed away Monday October 22, 2012 at his residence. Truman was born in Pender County, NC to the late Truman Porter Swain, Sr. and Mary Bowden Swain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Faye Stidham Swain and one brother Buddy Swain. Mr. Swain proudly served his country actively in the United States Coast Guard, United States Air Force along with serving in the United States Navy and United States Army Reserve. He was retired from the FAA as an electronics technician.

Mr. Swain is survived by his two proud sons: Malcolm Swain of Wilmington, NC, James Dean and wife Ruth of Four Oaks, NC; two grandsons: Philipp Swain and wife Angela of Charleston, SC and Matthew Dean of Four Oaks, NC; two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Nancy Phillips and husband Bobby of Wilmington, NC, Annie Barnhill of Burgaw, NC, Sally Luckett and husband Bob of Greensboro, NC.; and one sister-in-law: Evelyn Swain of Swansboro, NC.

A memorial service with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard will be conducted at 2:00pm Friday, October 26, 2012 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel.
