She is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Clifton Lewis.
Deborah is survived by her mother, Gladiola Lewis Rackley, her husband, Rickey Mercer of the home, her son Kevin Mercer (Courtney) of Rocky Mount, four sisters; Edna Marie Lewis, Jenny Gibson-Williams (Gary), Betty Bass (Bobby), and Michelle Lewis, her brother Raymond “Ray” Lewis II, and two grandchildren, Adam Mercer and Adalyn Mercer.
Deborah was a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church. She loved the mountains and enjoyed traveling. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother who had a joyful heart. She loved her family dearly and will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home in Wilson. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home and will be officiated by Pastor Gene Wells. Interment will follow immediately at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.
