
Delois “Lois” Ann Brann Hawley, 75, beloved wife of 55 years of the late Wilbur Gray Hawley, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in her home. She was born in Wilson County, June 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Ruby Juanita Brann and was a lifelong resident. She was working for the Sugar Plum Shoppe for the past 27 years. She was a member of Peace Church for over 40 years. Besides her husband and mother, she was predeceased by her son Gary Edward Hawley, and her grandson, Hunter Alan Waters. She is survived by her daughters; Lydia Jean Elliott and her husband Jonas of Whitman, WV, and Cynthia Lynn Waters of Elm City; her sons, Wilbur Scott Hawley and Jeffrey Dale Hawley, both of Elm City; her grandchildren, Amanda Stallard (Mitchell), Hannah Elliott, Phillip Mitchell Creel (Rhonda), Crystal Ann Page, Casandra Marie Vick (James), Megan Renee Hawley, Walker Lee Waters, Tucker Clay Waters, and Parker Bryce Waters; her great-grandchildren, Ashira Queen, Braysen Stallard, Alexix Vick, Brianna Vick, Grayson Creel, Key Hooker, and Kierstan Hooker. She also leaves her sisters, Rita Smith (Robert), Brenda Etheridge, and her brother, Clyde Etheridge (Judi) all of Wilson and her nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Peace Church; The Rev. Rusty Russell will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
