Dorothy Frazier Bailey, 84, fondly called “DotDot” of Wilson passed away Friday, August 6, 2021. She was a resident at Parkwood Village where she lit up everyone’s day with her beautiful smile and was a true friend to all. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11am at Thomas Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson NC.
DotDot was a member of Westview Christian Church where she sang in the choir, helped with the youth group and was a divine saint to all. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, family member and friend who will be greatly missed. She was an excellent educator who loved everyone and treated everyone with respect. She taught kindergarten for over 36 years at Wells School. She touched many lives during her career as a kindergarten teacher and will be missed by all. She truly loved all of her many kindergarten children and wanted the best for all of them. She was a great cook who loved to make homemade cheese straws and special desserts and candy to share with her family and friends during the Christmas holidays. She fried the best fried chicken and made the best homemade biscuits in the world. She volunteered at Hunt High School in the Foods and Nutrition classes to demonstrate how to make homemade buttermilk biscuits from scratch. She also had a green thumb and made beautiful flower arrangements grown from her garden in her back yard which she shared with many friends and family. She made a lasting impression on all of her family and friends and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Bailey, parents Conway and Bessie Frazier, and her sister Betty Lou Barnett.
She is survived by her son, James Gibson Bailey, daughter Stella Bailey Boykin, grandchildren; Mallory Kenan McAden, Mary Ashley McAden, Korie Bailey Boykin, son in law; Cord Steeves Boykin, grandson; Wyatt McAden Schroer, sister; Kay Frazier Rose, nephew; Max Todd Rose, niece; Terry Barnett Smith, nephew; George Gregory Barnett and several great nieces and nephews.
