Born in Wilson County, North Carolina, Kenneth spent most of his life there before moving to Rocky Mount in 2002, just prior to his retirement. He dedicated over 30 years of service to the State of North Carolina through his work in the Probation & Parole Department, where he was respected for his integrity and steady leadership.
Kenneth was married to the love of his life, Peggy Deans, for over 52 years before her passing in 2015. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Deans Jr., his daughter-in-law Amy D. Deans, and his beloved grandson, Tripp, all of Chesterfield, Virginia.
A man of quiet strength and deep faith, Kenneth was known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He enjoyed the simple joys of life—working outside, casting a fishing line, and spending time with those he loved. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of Peace Church for many decades, actively participating in church life until relocating to Virginia in 2015.
A graveside memorial service to honor Kenneth’s life will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Wilson, NC on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 2PM.
He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep respect by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
