

MILDRED STANCIL RODGERS Mildred Stancil Rodgers, 93, beloved wife of the late J. Kermit Stancil, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Mildred was born in Johnston County, January 2, 1922, a daughter of the late Charlie and Florence Samworth Stancil, and had lived in Wilson for many years. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Betty Mason and her husband David of Rocky Mount; her son, Charles Rodgers and his wife Linda of Clinton; her sister, Barbara Ford of Dobson; her brother, Fred Stancil of Farmville, her 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Kermit, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Florence Page, her son, John K. Rodgers, Jr., and her sisters, Ellen Harrell and Priscilla Williams. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home 2704 Nash St., in Wilson, with a funeral services to follow. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
