Wilson: Susan Fitzgerald Nichols, age 71, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Lloyd Fitzgerald and Mildred Davis Fitzgerald and was also predeceased by her husband Bobbie Nichols and her brother Thomas Fitzgerald.
Susan was a retired Special Education teacher with a huge heart serving in the Wilson County School system. She was a resilient person who survived cancer several times in her life. She was the type of person who never met a stranger. She was always talking, laughing and telling jokes. Her smile could light up a room. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Trent Godard and his wife Erica of Waynesboro, PA, her daughter Elizabeth G. Boswell and her husband Cris of Stantonsburg, her brother Douglas Fitzgerald and his wife Jodi of Charlotte, five grandchildren, Garrett and Claire Boswell and Riley, Elena and Gregory Godard.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Thomas – Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N., Wilson, NC 27896.
