SUE MORGAN BARKLEY Sue Morgan Barkley, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Ed Barkley. Sue was born in Wilson County on April 22, 1923 and was a lifelong area resident. Besides her husband Ed, she was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Blanche Lowe Morgan and her brother, Clay Morgan. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Goodwin and her husband Rev. Dennis Goodwin of Morehead City; her son, Brooks Barkley and his wife Betty of Elm City; her beloved grandsons: Thomas Barkley and wife Wendy of Elm City, and Harrison Barkley of Farmville: her great-grandchildren, Claire, Graham, and Reed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Friday at 11 a.m. at the Elm City United Methodist Church, 106 North Parker St. in Elm City.
