Thomas Francis Maude Jr.

Thomas F. Maude Jr., Age 83 Mr. Thomas F. Maude Jr. passed away on Tuesday May 31, 2016. He was born to the late Dorothy and Thomas F. Maude Sr. July 1, 1932. A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, 153 N Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC. The family will receive friends for an hour after the service. Tom was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Morristown, New Jersey where he graduated from Morristown High School in 1950. He served in the US Army as a corporal in the Air Defense artillery in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from St Lawrence University in Canton, NY in 1957. Tom worked in manufacturing for the majority of his career, serving in various capacities as an industrial engineer. Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, family, and spending time at North Carolina coast with his wife Carol. Tom was an active member in the church, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and tutored young students. He was a member of Birchwood Country Club in Nashville, NC for many years and had served as the Secretary of the Seniors Golf Association. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Carol Maude. He is survived by his sons Thomas C. Maude and wife Debbie, Robert Maude and wife Colleen, Richard Maude, and daughter Melissa and husband Mark Ascher along with four grandchildren.
