William "Billy" Ray Davis Sr.

William Ray “Billy” Davis, Sr., 80, of Wilson passed away Monday. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home located at 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC.

Billy worked as a residential building contractor, along with working in the real estate industry, in Wilson County for 45 years. He was a long-time member of Peace Church. Billy found joy in the time he spent with his family, especially attending and being a part of his sons’ and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Farmer Davis; three sons: Bill Davis (Julie) of Pittsboro, Neal Davis (Holly) of Wilson and Troy Davis of Wilson; nine grandchildren: Leigh Ann Bowen, Bryce Davis, Turner Bowen, Lauren Davis, Georgia Davis, Seth Davis, Jackson Davis, Darby Davis and Avery Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Minnie Hawley Davis.
