Billy Larry Garrett

Billy Larry Garrett, age 90, of Winder passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Billy was born in Jackson County to the late Arthur Dewey “A.D.” and Birdie May Cruce Garrett. He had eight brothers and sisters. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors. Billy was known as a wheeler dealer and a jack of all trades. Billy was a former Commander of the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife. Elisabeth Ann. He is survived by his sons: Barry (Shelby) Garrett, Tim (Dawn) Garrett, and Larry Garrett all of Winder; stepchildren: Bob Peters, Connie (Steven) Slaton, and Ronda Royster all of Monroe; grandchildren: Bradley (Kristy) Garrett of FL, Will (Nicole) Whisenant of Jefferson, GA, Taylor Bradberry of Oklahoma City, Kristen Hadaway, Alexander Hudson, Andrew Hudson, Jacob Palmer, Jason Palmer, Travis Peters, Ashley (Kyle Davis) Anderson, Logan (Brandy) Phillips, Brandon Moss, and Paris Burnsed; and great-grandchildren: Noah Garrett and Lily Garrett.

A visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26 from 12:00 pm until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel with his burial to follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
